From what I've gathered in my life, the concept Hector seems to be describing of 'transcendence' or 'ascension' to a higher state of mind is largely a fruitless one that only brings guilt and blame... but man, I sure hope pursuing it won't hurt him... or anyone else, for that matter. A big part of this arc seems to be 'look how far we've come' and comparing the future to the past. I wonder how that'll develop? Also, second to last panel: I just want to smoosh Hector's cute little nose. |
