Wow, that background. One of my main browser tabs used to be to Hubble's image gallery for exactly the kind of visuals in the background of the last panel. It's already been said but that was a month well spent and worth the wait.

Of course. That's a month well spent.

This is beyond awesome.

So I thought about it some more, and from left to right, I'm guessing:
Mercury in grey
Pluto in teal
Neptune in blue
Mars in purple
Jupiter in Red
...Earth in black?
Venus in white
Uranus in green
And Saturn in yellow.

...Sounds about right.

Holy hot damn! You never cease to amaze me.

That last panel should be a wallpaper or something.

Also the theory of these gods representing the planets make a lot of sense, considering the one in the foreground with the spear and feathered helmet is clearly Mars, and matches the Martians' signature jumpsuit color. I'm guessing the others also match their planets according to color cues, but I'd need to refresh my knowledge of roman gods to even identify the others. The red one in the middle is probably Jupiter, with Neptune in blue to his left.

And I'm guessing these are not literal representations of what Jupiter is saying/doing/making; I seen to remember Zack clarifying their flowery speech or ship names (or something like that) as being closest approximations of intent, as their literal interpretations would just look like gibberish to us readers. I'm guessing this is the case here as well; we are seeing the roman gods because they're the closest earth-equivalents to what the Jovians are actually doing.

But wow, that's a great page. I see why it took a month to make.

That's a month well spent, Zack. Wow!

It's interesting that Jupiter has and continues to reference an Earth-based mythology. Did they pick it up from Earth like Uranus did with Rambo? Or maybe they somehow influenced Earth all those years ago? It's surprising to see the gods so human.

lunch: It's always a good time to get reacquainted with mythology! I learned what a petasus was today.

yo, also:

9 gods = 9 planets? are we seeing the greek mythology analogue to our protagonist's ships?
