The characters tend to lose shading and coloring as a reaction. It's usually for something more sudden and surprising, like last page when Acai went grey in shock as he realized what Greenie was asking, but I think XX losing her shading in the last panel is more just a reaction to realizing something serious is going on.

Is anyone else a bit concerned that XX's shading left her once again in the last panel?

Sex is her capture, art is her love?

Love is an abstract concept.

Oh, neato.

Hi Furrama,

The speech color of Fig—the composite Fig—has indeed changed. However, it was accidentally excluded from some pages beyond XX's resurgence (page 229). Thank you for the correction.

I love how articulate everyone is in this era. The weasle or ferret, or him or her, explination of why they didn't think it's art was very vivid. I can totally understand why they found it creepy. And how they were also open minded to Fig's/XX's opinion. Purely refreshing.

I sure hope Acai isn't intending on asking Fig to talk some sense into her "boyfriend." That could land her in serious trouble. He's never been physically violent with her before, but at this point there's nothing he can't get away with.

Oh no, another mystery mustelid for me to wonder over.
16 . by: February 13, 2018, 3:07 pm

Well, XY *did* refer to her as his prize, and snapped at his friend with "what kind of question is that?" when asked if he truly loves her.

So, yeah, he sees her as an object, a trophy, nothing more.

i'm pretty sure green only thinks of xx as a toy and not as a person
14 . by: Mutt February 13, 2018, 1:24 pm

I think Green would mortified that X used his 'gift', his efforts to control her, to paint her abstract art on it. It could be a sign to him that his control over her is waning and he needs to resestablish it immediately. I also wouldn't put it past him to destroy the canvas out of anger. But who knows? Maybe this will be the piece that finally clicks with him?
13 . by: February 13, 2018, 11:14 am

oh! she’s referring to art as “escape” rather than “capture”.
12 . by: Seven February 13, 2018, 8:58 am

I've yet to see a sign that Greenie's taken any more interest in Fig or her art than he has before, so I'll go with "indifferent".

Im just wondering what greenie would think of the big canvas painting. Would he be ccontent that she used it? Proud that is shows the labyrinth he is trying to create? Woukd he recognize the start of rebellion? Or would he just be indifferent, having risen above their little game?

@9 I didn't believe you, but does look like it changed a smidgen. It went from #989595 to #9a9595, but the first time that happened was on page 235. Her "Uh..."

That's interesting, since it seems to have been consistent up till now.

Even XX's speech bubbles have a tiny bit of color to them now :O

Love the brain-like pattern in panel 8.
7 . by: Zack February 12, 2018, 10:53 pm

Thank you for the correction. The speech is now the correct color.

Acai, Fig, team up and overthrow XY.

Agreed about the oops in Panel 5! Despite the mustelid fellow looking at it as she's speaking within the same panel.

Also agreed it is good to see XX finding some sort of middle ground between the different elements of her self! I admire her sexual confidence.

ditch greenie set the maze on fire
2 . by: Juna February 12, 2018, 9:29 pm

Yea, I was gonna ask the same about panel 5. It does look like XX is starting to get a better handle on doing her sex work without hiding her artistic ambitions. She's even running her painting by her clients? Even under the guise of her sex persona, it looks like the artist is starting to gain ground again.

Also, pretty excited that Acai's gonna lay down some much-needed updates about Greenie for XX. Good thing the nodes aren't capable of surveillance right now... yet, anyways. Greenie would make that happen if he could, especially after that knock-out shock we saw round VD's death.

Is panel 5 supposed to be XX’s speech bubble?

It’s good to see her back in a less miserable place. Hope Greenie isn’t about to take that away from her again... though something has to give to push her into school.
