Hmm. I wonder what any finished ones will look like post-Praxis!

No, she half finished "Cherry". Plus any teaching examples.

XX hasn't tried to paint anything since she acquired the Vision Praxis from RG, correct?

Smoothie's face in panel 6 is me when I read Youtube comments.

It occurs to me that her paintings are gray because she puts herself on the page.

Something that is slightly scary to a veteran reader is that the ink appears to be bright sky blue but turns grey when it's on XX's body. Sky blue appearing in a grey world didn't go so well last time...

You guys are totally right, there is a bowl there by her tail. That would make more sense; at first, I thought the lines were imaginary and only we could see them. Or that it was her blood (quickly ditched that theory when she continued to extend the line though).

Did not pick up on the fact that they match the labyrinth!

Hmm was that alcohol laced with something OTHER than an aphrodisiac? Or is this just your average drunken environment-turning-pastel-psychedelic-then-disappearing-altogether situation?

Did she take that ink from her tail or the little bowl near her? Either way, love this page
12 . by: October 20, 2017, 8:23 am

She's... drawing a labyrinth across her body.

I love the abstract backgrounds before it turns all white. They look like paintings she'd do!

uuuuffh... her expression in the second to last panel breaks my heart somehow.

@9 i thought she got the ink from her tail at first too, (which made me wonder if she dyed it, maybe so the black extended further?). but i realized there's actually a little bowl sitting there that she's reaching for, so i'm guessing that she's actually drawing on herself with what she was drawing on the wall(?) earlier. i like your impression better than mine though, that it was an Art she pulled from her tail. makes way more sense in the world and with the symbolism behind her giant "brush" and it's just really cool, haha. maybe she'll develop a Style like that later... I CAN HOPE...

@7 It seems to go with some of the earlier theories about the prologue - she's colored in but the world is not, because it is her canvas while she understands herself. When she is rejected by the world, she loses her color.

I love this page. The colors, the dialogue, the sweet "tattoos" from her Style, Smoothie's reaction...it's one of the best.

Cool how she touches her tail to get the "ink."

"With this they'll look. They'll look at me."

You know, funny she says that. I always thought that Fig looked like a blank canvas. The way she's colored can be so flat in comparison to everyone else. Just. Flat, pure white, even when everyone else is shaded. She's blank.

He wants to paint her canvas... IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
5 . by: October 20, 2017, 12:16 am

If he doesn't at least say "a friend" I'll be disappointed in him.

I was thinking that too @2. Refreshing to be out of the caves for a bit!

I particularly like the second-last panel. She looks so disappointed with him.

his hesitation to look at her kind of reminds me of her hesitation to use her big empty canvas; I think once you make a big statement like that the abstraction (or what's coming next) is gone, the feeling has been "possessed," and then the viewer will move on.

I also have to add how much I love the pastel purples and blues of this page.

I really love Fig's expressions on this page. Very nice dialogue as well! Can't wait to see where this goes.
