a detail i really appreciate about this arc is how lovingly xx + her other iterations are written. its the reason why i read this as story as a character study. like, even this part characterizes her with subtle details - e.x. she manages to manifest Art into a miniature metanoia without any proper training. you can also similarly assume that fig's appearance is technically a metanoia itself (w/ how she essentially created not only her performance as a desirable object of consumption but how it overtook her physical reality). small hints here and there that xx/fig has a lot of raw Artistic potential. she has so much complexity and detail put into writing her i love her okay :'( |

Oh, I like how he was needled in the same eye as the poor stoat from page 100, but at least this - so far- seems to have a more constructive outcome. I don't see color on XX's ear - not the dream one, nor on "real world" Fig's - but I do see the grey patch on dream Fig's. Don't give up, XX! |

@Seven: I also have to wonder if it's because of the difference in their types of art. Cherry II's art seems to be martial art from the college ala earlier arcs, whereas XX's is abstract visual. Maybe it's easier to reconcile sex with an already physical art? |

@Juna, Oh, I didn't notice that. It also looks like the wall/curtain in the next panel is covered in grey stripes, while it's a solid blue color behind Fig. It could also just be action lines to emphasize Fig's frustration, too. |

@Trismegistus I think dream XX is on all fours now, finding the energy to fight back. Also, I just noticed that in the direction of XX's 'attack' towards Smoothie, the environment in front of her got striped gray for a second, and while she was going tiger it looked like the ground around her was graying out. No doubt that's an expression of her former colored self. |

@23, Dream XX on panel 30, right? I think she's laying in a different position than in the other two panels is all. I can't seem to find a color that isn't a shade of grey in those panels. |

@21 i think they're a little speck of color on dream XX's ear as well! you kinda gotta squint for it though. Also, with XX/Fig going all stripey--those eyebrow markings look a lot like Greenie's, I wonder if his appearance is related to what went on with Fig in this page? |
